  1. What do registration fees cover?
Registration fees cover partial uniform costs, field equipment, insurance costs, background checks on coaches, coach and player training, field costs, indoor facility costs, some tournament costs, league fees, goals and referee fees along with many other significant expenses.

  2. Why must I register for US Lacrosse every year?
US Lacrosse is the governing body for lacrosse in the United States. US Lacrosse is the insurance that is covered on each player. Any players that intend to play in lacrosse tournaments will need to have a US Lacrosse membership.

  3. When are roster closed?
The rosters are officially closed on January 31st. We do make exceptions, however a $50 late fee will be charged; please contact our President ASAP if you would still like to sign up.

  4. What equipment is needed?
Boys will need helmets, gloves, elbow and shoulder pads, cleats, a stick and a mouth guard. We highly recommend rib pads and a cup. Girls need goggles, a stick, cleats and a mouth guard.

  5. What is the best place to purchase equipment?
Many places offer starter packages. You can find equipment at Angelo’s, Dicks, and Play it Again.  EBay is also a great place to look for good finds.

  6. Is used equipment available?
West Shore Youth Lacrosse does have some used equipment available (primarily for boys) . Please contact the used equipment coordinator.

  7. How often are practices and where are they held?
Practices are generally 2-3 times a week and vary between local fields. Our home field is Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church off of Valley Road in Etters. The girls play most of the time at Lower Allen Park.

  8. When/Where are games?
Games are on Saturdays only throughout the MidPenn League.

  9. My child plays another sport also. Can they still play lacrosse?
We do encourage kids to stay active in multiple sports. However, once they reach the competitive levels at U13 and above, 100% commitment is required for the Varsity teams. This is for the safety and fairness of every player.

  10. When does the season run?
The season runs from March 1st until the end of May. We have some volunteer indoor practices throughout the fall and winter months.

  11. My child is big/small for his/her age. Can they play at a different level?
For the safety of everyone, each child plays at the appropriate level according to their birthdates. Absolutely no one is permitted to play down due to league regulations. Playing “up” is only considered in rare circumstances and is left up to the board to decide upon.

  12. What is the current budget?
West Shore Youth Lacrosse Club's current budget is around $35,000. This is why we must do fundraisers throughout the year/season.

  13. What is required to be a business sponsor?
We have different levels of sponsorship. Please contact the business sponsor coordinator if you are interested in sponsoring the club.

  14. What is the refund policy?
After a player has registered and paid to play for West Shore Youth Lacrosse Club, they are entitled to have half of their fees returned to them if they decide to drop out between February 1st thru Mar 15th. No refunds will be given if a player drops after the March 15th date.

This is due to the fact that we had to order uniforms as well as turn perspective players away. All refund requests must be submitted by March 16th.

Also there are no refunds at all for the US Lacrosse memberships.
